NO RESPECT OF FOREST and CROP FIELDS BY INDIAN RAILWAYS

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE ?

1. Enough Garbage Bags must be provided in Trains.

2. While cleaning and grooming train compartment, everyday supervision is required, Stop throwing plastic garbage out side in forest and fields.

3. Some action plan must be developed and strictly implemented, to clean the existing Plastic waste nearby Rails in Indian railways periphery throughout India.

4. Dustbins to be placed beneath wash basin in Non AC compartments and Generals Compartments in all trains of Indian Railways.

5. Unreadable Instructional Posters (stickers) in all the Trains will be replaced with new and clearly readable stickers in all trains in Indian railways. Time on time checks and replacements must be done.

6. New Stickers must be designed and printed ” Please throw Garbage in Dustbin Beneath Washbasin ” be made and placed all over in all train compartments.

THIS IS THE WHOLE STORY !!!! Happened with me on 12/02/2012

Some BHARAT VIKAS GROUP COMPANIES ,is awarded with contract of cleaning train compartments…the cleaning man groomed the compartment and thrown all the plastic waste out of train in forest and crop fields..when i asked WHY? the guy said seniors never give us garbage bag for Non AC and keep them for AC COMPARTMENTS..whereas our instructional manual says us to fill Plastic and organic garbage in bags…I am in 11057 Amritsar Express …

What i said to him is ,” if u throw such plastic on station at-least someone else will pick it whereas who will pick the plastic thrown in forest or fields..?”

When I inquired about TT or train guard, i have not found them, I went from S1 to S10 , few train staff told me TT is resting in AC Compartment, and no one knows the wear-about of train guard…I thought i will get the complaint book and register my grievances., but so far no results. I checked the procedure of filing complaint on the instruction poster in my compartment which is S1. See the Picture I clicked.

So when Train staff and few railway police men were unable to inform me the wear about of TT and Train Guard, I patiently waited for my Station, Ludhiana . I inquired about the topmost officer on Ludhiana Railway station to register my complaint on whole issue.

They directed me to Deputy Station Superintendent , where I filed my complaint. these Pictures are my hand written complaint.

while sharing with DSS, I asked him , “do AC compartments have dustbins” , he said “yes !!“ then I asked “do sleeper coaches have dustbin” he said “yes !!”

I said , I am traveling in India Railways since Childhood , but never seen dustbins in non AC Coaches , He said they are there beneath washbasin.

I invited him to come and board to any train with me right at that moment , as we both were on Railway Station Itself and let us do dudh ka dudh and pani ka pani . after observing my confidence he came on “maybe!!!” and sent me to his senior . The Senior was having lunch so clerk went inside and came with an answer “AC have dustbins and non AC do not “ smilingly .

I went again to the Deputy Station Superintendent and he patiently accepted his misjudgment. Then I asked him to return my complaint and add this suggestion alongwith , which he smartly refused ! I do not know his Intentions,

Before leaving his office I told him that , approx no. of passengers and size of compartment is same in AC and Non AC and since the inception of AC compartment, Indian railways provided them with dustbin and passengers in those compartments are aware of it.

Whereas in Non AC , because of unavailability of Dustbin , people are addicted with a habit of throwing garbage here or there or outside of train. I quoted him that ” education se hi awareness aati hai janab “
Lets see , they told me that seniors will take action with in 10 days and a copy of action taken will be sent to me … I hope they will listen and take action on this serious enviorvimental issue .

During same evening I thought to register my suggestion about Placing Dustbins ( beneath Non AC and General compartments ) which I missed in my hand written Complaint .

I registered my complaint and received complaint no. W/CC/CCC/000016020

Next day Morning I got a Auto-generated reply which I am copy pasting

Sir/Madam,
Your Complaint No.: W/CC/CCC/000016020 has been attended to and it is now closed.

I do not know who? Attended it , what action was taken etc etc..
There was no email contact to ask for further clarification .

Then I sent email to chairman railways and CC to secretary railways on public email IDs : crb@rb.railnet.gov.in and secyrb@rb.railnet.gov.in

Respected Chairman,

I filed a Complaint yesterday on online portal of Indian Railways. today morning I got the reply which I am forwarding to you . there is no email ID on which I can ask for further clarification. it says your complaint is closed .. I mean what does it means ?
what action is taken on it ? I checked on Webiste , the contact page is unavailable on this link http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/indianrailways/directorate/tele_comm/downloads/Directory.pdf
Please guide me as I wish to know that what “CLOSED” status means .
